Fashion for Peace 2009.

21-25 April 2009. The Festival for Arts and Fashion in Africa (FAFA) is hosting its second annual Fashion for Peace event in Nairobi to draw attention once again to the talent and sophistication of African fashion design. The five-day event includes a designer masterclass at the Goethe Insitut, an exhibition of ethical lifestyle and fashion products from across the continent and a gala and fashion show in a special tent in Nairobi National Park. FAFA was founded in 2008 in response to the violence that swept across Kenya following the disputed presidential elections of December 2007. Funds raised from the gala will support the Alternatives to Violence Project in Kenya.
