The ballet tells the story of a nobleman, Count Albrecht, and his love for the young peasant girl Giselle, who loses her mind when jilted by her fickle lover. Performances on 24, 25 and 27 Oct and 1 Nov are accompanied by the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra while on 28-29 Oct and 2 Nov the music is pre-recorded.
