14-29 September 2012. The Phoenix Players present Happy Birthday, a play directed by George Munga.

The plot tells of Bernard, who invites his mistress, Brigit, to his home on her birthday in presence of his wife Jacqueline. On this occasion Bernard also invites his oldest friend, Robert, asking him to pretend Brigit is his mistress, but at first Robert refuses since he is having a secret love affair with Jacqueline. Robert finally accepts and while he is outside the house door with Jacqueline, a temporary maid, also named Brigit, arrives and Robert mistakes her for Bernard’s girlfriend.

This complicated story of exchanged identities, plots, counter plots and bedrooms reserves an unexpected ending, which will make the protagonists happy, including the maid, who ends up acquiring a mink coat and lots of money. Phoenix Players.
