Harvest Festival

30 Jan-30 Mar. The Cape Winelands district, which stretch from Constantia to Calitzdorp, celebrate the South African harvest season and invite the public to participate to this year’s local crop, the third biggest in history with an estimated 1.385 thousand tons of fruit.

The numerous wineries as well as entire towns of this area propose toasts and weekend-long family-friendly festivals, filled with a great array of entertainment. Participants are also able to learn more about the wine production, which includes grape picking, grape stomping, barrel rolling and, at some wine farms, cellar tours and wine blending demonstrations. Some farms also sell fresh fruits and vegetables.

The numerous kids’ activities include tractor drives, pony rides and old-school games.
