2 Feb 2010. This film, entitled MusicDocu by Dieter Matzka, tells the story of Highlife, a fusion music which originated in Ghana. Through music and interviews it traces the originis of Burger Highlife in Ghana and Germany and explores the influences of these two different cultures on this music genre.

Highlife music combines traditional Ghanaian beats such as Palmwine music with western musical influences such as funk and disco music. Renowned Highlife musicians include George Darko, Lee Dodou, Pat Thomas, McGod, Bob Fiscian and Albert Jones, while famous pieces are Ghana - Land of Freedom, Come to Africa, Money is Blood, Odo Beba, Ocean Wind, Tonight, Highlife Agogo and No Beer in Heaven.

The film-maker Dieter Matzka will be present.

The screening starts at 19.30 and lasts 106 minutes.
