Homage to the Cheny Wa Gune and his Quartet

6 June 2012. This exhibition pays homage to the famous Mozambican musician Cheny Wa Gune and his quartet. Gune has been a member of the musical quartet Timbila Muzimba for more than 14 years. His music is a mixture of traditional African instruments, such as Mbira, Xitende and Mbila, and classical ones, such as basses and drums. The music has deeply influenced contemporary Mozambican music. This quartet successfully participated in numerous festivals, such as the Argentinean FIBA, the Brazilian FESTLIP and the Danish WOMEX World Music Expo 2010.
