I Menaechmi (The brothers Menaechmus)

27 August - 11 September 2010. Directed by George Mungai and starring Samson Psenjen, Likarion Wainaina, Karimi Njagi and Tash Mitambo, the Phoenix Players present a version of Plautus's I Menaechmi or The Brothers Menaechmus.

Adapted to a local setting, a set of twins are born to a Dar es Salaam business man. When they are seven years old one of the boys gets lost in Zanzibar and is later adopted by a trader in Mombasa. Twenty years pass and the two brothers are re-united without realising it, providing for hilarious consequences. Titus Maccius Plautus (254
