6-30 April 2006. Henrik Ibsens classic play A Doll's House (A Casa da Boneca) is playing at Teatro Avenida as part of the international programme of events to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of the Norwegian playwright (1828-1906). The production, financed and promoted by the Norwegian embassy in Maputo, has been timed to coincide with Mozambican Womens Day on 7 April due to the play's strong focus on women and women's rights. The script has been adapted from the original under the supervision of Swedish author Henning Mankell to reflect the realities of modern Mozambican society. 18.00.
