28 Feb-10 March 2007. Icebox 02 is a festival of contemporary creativity combining music, film, video and interactive media. Organised by Liquid Fridge, a local non-profit organisation devoted to advancing contemporary South African creativity through interaction and debate, the programme opens with an evening of innovative short-form narratives, documentaries, music videos and animations by over 20 independent creators from South Africa and abroad (28 Feb). This is followed by an exhibition of soundscapes and computer-generated imagery as well as a light-centred installation by sonic engineer Martin Sims and electro-acoustic artist Brendon Bussy (1-10 March). Other highlights include workshops and performances and a club night on 10 March with an eclectic selection of DJs and live retro-tech-future-funk.
