1 Oct-30 Nov 2009. Following the success of two video art workshops, the Centre for Contemporary Art hosts the first international video art exhibition in Lagos. This event offers a new platform for emerging and established video artists, who have explored the theme of identity and the related issues of race, citizenship and migration in Africa from the most diverse points of view.
This exhibition is divided into two sections: one dedicated to race or skin tone and its impact among African people living in Africa; the second on how political, economic and social predicaments have caused voluntary and forced migration into and out of Africa, with all its varying consequences.
