2-18 March 2006. Community-based theatre groups from the Eastern and Western Cape come together for this drama festival that takes its name from the Xhosha word for morning star. The programme includes Ubizo Voices of elokshini, exploring the division between township and suburban life, The Miracle Begins, a musical stage drama about conflicting beliefs in cases of Hiv/Aids, and Girl Child from the Ghetto, on the psychological, emotional and physical impact of growing up in a squatter camp. Contributions from Cape Towns townships, Bellville, Paarl, East London and Port Elizabeth. Mon-Sat, 10.00am, 12.00, 15.00 and 19.00 or 20.15. Tickets R30.
