In Art We Can by Armando Tanzini

31 Jan-14 Feb. This exhibition features a series of paintings by the Italian artist Armando Tanzini.

Born in Livorno in 1943, he started his artistic career at a very young age and was a student and friend of Modigliani. He attended the Art School of Florence, as well as the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome and the School of Fine Arts of Paris, where he participated in the student 1967/1968 movement under the motto Creativity in Power. He later travelled to Africa, where he discovered its primitive art and culture. Also in India he was deeply caught and fascinated by its intense spirituality. He finally abandoned painting and dedicated himself to architecture and sculpture. He designed and built numerous public buildings, including the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

Among the numerous recognitions, he received the Unesco Award for the foundation Do Not Forget Africa.

Mon-Thurs 10.30-18.00, Fri 09.00-16.00.
