29 April 2008. The Dance Guild of Nigeria is organising a dance event in conjunction with Goethe-Institut Lagos for international dance day. Artistes and companies from all over the country will present traditional and contemporary pieces in a programme highlighting the breadth and quality of Nigerian dance. Founded in the early 1980s, International (or World) Dance Day is celebrated all over the world on 29 April in homage to the great French dancer and ballet master Jean Georges Noverare (1727-1810).
