International festival of contemporary dance.

28 Aug-7 Sept 2006. The first international festival of contemporary dance is underway in Maputo with a programme of solo and group performances by artists from all over the world. The Swiss dance company Influx performs on 1 Sept followed by Ictus from Belgium and Mxo-Temporary Dance Company from South Africa on 2 Sept. Other highlights include the solo performance of Il tango de la muerte by Mozambican choreographer and dancer Augusto Cuvilas on 4 Sept. The festival has been organised by the French Mozambican Cultural Centre (CCFM) in conjunction with the Centre of Choreographic Research and Projecto Cuvilas.
