20-22 Feb 2006. Three lectures organised by the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences explore the theme of Education, Literacy and Governance: A Linguistic Inquiry into Ghanas Burgeoning Democracy. The lectures will be delivered by professors Kwesi Yankah, Lawrence Boadi, Ivan Addae-Mensah and Kwame Gyekye, all from the University of Ghana. The talks are part of an annual lecture series organised in memory of the Ghanaian opposition leader, philosopher and lawyer Joseph Kwame Kyeretwi Boakye Danquah, who died in prison in 1964. Daily 17.30-19.30. Open to all.
