Tanzania's first judo championship is scheduled to take place at the Landmark Hotel in the Kinondoni district of Dar es Salaam from 26-28 May.
The two-day event is organised by the Judokas Association of Tanzania and is designed to raise the sport's profile in the country.
Over 100 judokas from Tanzania will battle it out for prize money and trophies from the sponsors, the Gemini mining firm.
There will be seven stages in the championship which is open to men, women and children.
