Lagos Open House architectural festival

26-29 April. Lagos hosts the Open House architectural festival for the third year running. This year the festival features 30 buildings throughout the city on both the island and mainland. There are also exhibitions and symposiums.

The theme for 2018 is Amphibious Lagos, emphasising the importance of water as a means of transport around the city.

The festival will also examine the subject of seasonal flooding which can be severe in Lagos and the dangers of water shortages which are now plaguing many cities across Africa.

This is the third year of the Lagos Open House event, which is considered an important one for African architecture. The festival is sponsored by the British Council among others.
