Lights, Camera, Africa

The Lights, Camera, Africa festival shows independent African-produced films, screening classics as well as new productions.

This year the theme is Legacy, to mark the centenary of the unification of the southern and northern protectorates in Nigeria. Legacy will also examine the ways in which the past and the present interact.

There are showings of over 20 films, discussion groups and workshops with authors, script writers and film producers. Television films are to be included in the festival for the first time and there are planned linkups with New York and London.

Screenings are at various locations throughout the city.
