Houses and public spaces in the Gugulethu township are converted into galleries, stages and performance areas in the annual arts project which first started in Johannesburg in 2000.
The home galleries display work by local township artists and there is also street art and performances.
The purpose of the project, which is now in its third year and is part of the Cape Town 2014 World Design Capital programme, is not just to encourage local artists but also to bring outsiders and business into the township.
A shuttle service is laid on from the centre of the city at the Cape Town Sightseeing office on the corner of Long Street and Shortmarket Street to Gugulethu.
