5 Nov-4 Dec 2009. This exhibition is part of the ongoing Amnesia Project to allow Kenyan and African artists to tell their own story and reclaim their past. Writer, historian and founder/editor of African contemporary culture magazine Revue Noire, Simon Njami, has brought together a collection of pieces from the Sindika Dokolo African Collection of Contemporary Art (SDACCA) in Angola, a private collection owned by Congolese businessman and art collector Sindika Dokolo which contains around 600 works by artists from 21 countries across the continent. The exhibition is supported by a number of national and international foundations and cultural institutions including the Ford Foundation, the Mondriaan Foundation, the Goethe-Institut Nairobi and Nairobi Arts Trust. Daily 09.30-17.30.
