Malindi Biennale 2008.

2 Dec 2008-28 Feb 2009. Work by artists from east and west Africa, Asia and Italy is on show in the second edition of the Malindi biennale. The event centres on a newly created exhibition space in the popular coastal resort, but there are also three separate exhibitions in other parts of Kenya, including an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Italian artists at the Italian Cultural Institute in Nairobi (5 Dec-9 Jan). The biennale is dedicated to the late Swiss art historian and curator Harald Szeemann and is directed by Italian art critic Enrico Mascelloni.
