During the classical music season there is also the Xiquitsi teaching project for orchestra and choir launched in 2103 for young musicians, based on the El Sistema in Venezuela and the Neojibá in Brazil. The programme gives all young people from 7-25 a chance to learn an instrument and perform together. The aim of the training project is to reach out to some 2,000 children throughout the country and to form the first symphonic orchestra in Mozambique.
