1-3 Feb 2008. Marrabenta, one of the best known forms of urban dance music in Mozambique, is celebrated in a three day festival of music and dance in Maputo. The festival opens at the French-Mozambican Cultural Centre on 1 Feb at 20.30, before continuing on 2 Feb at in the town of Marracuene just north of Maputo at 15.00 and on 3 Feb at the Matalane cultural centre at 15.00. Guest artists include Vuthu Gaza of Xidimnguana, Galtones, Alberto Mutcheca, Dilon Ndjindji, Alberto Mhula (Manjacaziano) and the group Estrela de Marracuene of Dilon Ndjindji.
