6 March-11 April 2010. This very popular musical co-created by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey is brought to the stage by the director Pieter Toerien. The all South African cast includes Jonathan Roxmouth as Danny, Bethany Dickson as Sandy, Dane Paarman as Knickie and Genna Galloway as Rizzo.

This vibrant show, which celebrates the pop culture of the 1950s, has had great successes worldwide since it appeared in 1972 and is the longest-running musical in the history of Broadway. It is named after the members of the American young working-class, known as the greasers, and tackles universal issues relating to teenage culture such as love, friendship, adolescent rebellion, gang violence, teenage pregnancy and class conflict.
