Nairobi celebrates St Patrick

Most events take place on Saturday 15 March rather than the saint’s day on 17 March. Jameson Irish Whiskey Kenya is sponsoring a St Patrick’s Live party at the Carnivore Grounds with DJ Kid Capri from New York.

There are also celebrations from 14-17 March at Brew Bistro and Lounge, 671 Ngong Road, www.thebigfivebreweries.com.

South of Mombasa at Diani Beach the Forty Thieves Beach Bar hosts what it calls East Africa’s favourite Irish band, Sláinte, and provides coverage of the France-Ireland Six Nations match.

Jameson Irish Whiskey has been busy recently in Kenya with the launch of its Select Reserve and Ambassador brands last year. Premium whiskey has become one of the status symbols of the affluent, young and growing professional classes in Nairobi.
