28 April-12 May 2007. The Goethe Institut in Lagos is hosting two events on how to strengthen and expand the existing cultural offering in Nigeria. The first, on 28 April at 16.00, is a round-table discussion led by Joe Musa, artist, arts journalist and director of the national gallery of art, on the process of building up a national art collection and the challenges this presents. The second consists of a symposium on 11-12 May exploring arts and cultural programming in the country. Representatives of the Lagos cultural and artistic scene will discuss how programmes can be improved and promoted so they become part of the public debate. The results will be shared with the public during a round table on 12 May at 16.00.
