12-25 June 2006. Work by South Africas leading and emerging textile artists is on show in the annual Innovative Threads contemporary fibre art exhibition at the Nova Constantia farm just outside Cape Town. The show, now in its tenth year, includes wall hangings, weaving, embroidery, fabric painting, surface design, mixed-media and three-dimensional works including garments, baskets and other items. This year there will be a retrospective of work as well as a competition for the most innovative new fibre artists. The programme also includes fibre art workshops. Innovative Threads has toured to the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Japan and New Zealand. 10.00-17.00. Entry R20 adults, R10 pensioners and students, children under 12 free.
