One Third Photo Exhibition

4-16 Feb. This photographic exhibition, entitled One Third, focuses on food waste and was commissioned to Klaus Pichler by the United Nation’s Food and Agricultural Organsation (FAO).

A UN study testifies that one third of the world’s food goes to waste, especially in the industrialized countries of the global north, while global south is regularly hit by periods of severe starvation.

Pichler’s still lifes of rotting food analyse the connection between individual wastage of food and globalized food productivity. A text, which accompanies the shots, takes an in-depth look at the roots of this global problem.
