8-24 Oct 2009. This satirical work deals with the pretensions of self-realization and other absurd attitudes of modern man. The protagonist is an orphan named Lubbe who suddenly becomes very rich and can't sleep anymore. His wife Yvonne becomes worried and organizes an appointment for Lubbe with Stols, a salesman as well as a specialist guru.
Outodidak is written by the renowned Afrikaans playwright Schalk Schoombie, directed by Africaans writer and director Gideon van Eeden and stars Jeroen Kranenburg, Geon Nel and Bronwyn van Graan. Schoombie is the former editor of De Kat magazine and has written many other plays including Gesplete Tong, Wetters and the musical Blootle, created with songwriter Herman van den Berg, which was presented at the Aardklop Festival in 2003with great success.
