1-28 May 2011. This is the 45th exhibition by the Egyptian painter Mohamed Shaker. On display are a colourful selection of recent paintings created using oil on wood and oil on canvas. In his works Shaker, who has a special attraction for colours, binds light with place.
Among his favourite topics are the immortality, abstraction and metaphysics as well as reality in general with its infinite details. In his paintings the artist likes also to immortalize nature, trees, the sun, the moon, the sky and the land with a special symbolic style.
Shaker was born in Daqahliya in 1947 and studied Fine Arts at the Alexandria University, where he later became a professor. Since the 1970s he has participated in several solo and group exhibitions among the others in Iraq, India, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Qatar, China, Russia, Japan, Poland and Algeria.
