The 12th edition of the Zanzibar music festival, which takes place in Stone Town, showcases the best of African music live and is considered one of the top African music festivals.
This year 37 groups (and about 200 musicians) have confirmed their participation, 19 of them from Tanzania and the others from Angola, Algeria, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa.
There are also film showings and workshops and other fringe events.
