8-12 February 2012. The annual African Music festival Sauti za Busara in Zanzibar better known as the friendliest festival on the planet, is one of the most important events in East Africa.

In its 9th edition Sauti za Busara has a rich programme of live musical performances, daily from 17.00 to 01.00 around Stone Town. It will bring together 400 musicians, belonging to 40 groups from Tanzania as well as from other African countries. The groups will be urban and rural, acoustic and electric, established and upcoming.

The famous Carnival Street Parade will take place on 9 February. On programme will be beni brass band, ngoma drummers, mwanandege umbrella women, stilt-walkers, capoeira dancers and acrobats.

The programme will include the screening of African Music Films, such as documentaries, music clips, videos and live concert footage. There will also be a series of seminars and training workshops especially thought for artists, managers, music journalists, filmmakers and sound and lighting technicians.
