Save Our Seabirds Festival and Exhibition

8 October-20 November 2012. On occasion of the National Marine Week, the Iziko South African Museum showcases this annual festival, entitled Save Our Birds (SOS), which will run from 8 to 12 October to raise awareness of the great importance of seabirds in marine ecosystems, which need to be managed sustainably.

Contemporarily the Iziko South African Museum will also host a series of lectures (8, 10 and 12 October) on the marine conservation, held by three leaders in marine research and conservation, and a photographic exhibition, entitled Oceans of Life, which will be displayed until 20 November.
