10 November-22 December 2011. On Thursdays throughout November and December Goethe Institut projects a series of seven movies, set in different parts of Germany, on life in Germany and on the meaning of Heimat. The German word Heimat, which is similar to home or homeland but which has no equivalent translation in English, is deeply embedded with culture and a strong sense of belonging to a country. For some it indicates a place, while for others a lifestyle and a state of mind. The focus is on stories about people
