22 April 2006. Grade 7-12 students from South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland take part in a speech competition organised by the Toastmasters Club of Mbabane (Swaziland). There are two competition categories: international and humorous. Speeches must be original, written by the contestant, last 3-5 minutes maximum and be presented in English. The entry form can be filled in online on the 3 Nations Speech Contest website. The entry fee of 60,000 meticais/R20.00 is payable on the day. The Toastmasters Club of Mbabane is part of Toastmasters International, a non-profit organization which aims to develop members communication and leadership skills, with a special focus on youth. There are around 3,000 toastmasters belonging to 120 clubs in Southern Africa. The Maputo event marks the tenth anniversary of the Swaziland club and aims to promote the organisation in Mozambique. 10.00-17.00.
