Spier arts summer festival.

7 Dec 2006-23 March 2007. The annual summer festival at Spier in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands offers music, theatre, film, comedy and Christmas carols. The programme opens with the four-day Spier African music festival (7-10 Dec), which includes performances by Salif Keita, Dorothy Masuka, Zamajobe and a benefit concert Songs of Hope for the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation featuring Freshlyground and Vusi Mahlasela. Carols by candlelight are on 19 and 20 Dec. Other highlights include a two-day poetry festival in Feb 2007 and solo performances by some of the country's top musicians.
