StoryMoja Hay Festival Nairobi

19-22 Sept. The fifth StoryMoja Hay Festival. A four-day celebration of stories and contemporary Kenyan culture with books, forums, workshops, live performances and music. The festival is run in collaboration with the Hay Festival in the UK, and is the only one of the Hay festivals on the African continent.

There are 60 events this year and the guest authors and performers include writers from East and West African countries, South Africa, the Caribbean and Europe.

The theme this year is Imagine the World! Waza Dunai!

The name of the festival comes from Kenyan publishers Storymoja and underlines its efforts to promote literacy throughout the country.
