The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born

31 May 2012. This artistic event brings together several works by various Ghanaian artists, who used different means of expression, ranging from fine to applied arts.

Their works are inspired by the most famous Ghanaian novel, The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born by Ayi Kwei Armah. The Ghanaian writer describes with great lucidity Ghana’s state of affairs in the post-independence period.

This event is displayed contemporarily at La Neighbourhood, adjacent to the Artists’ Alliance, as well as at Goethe Institut Ghana. The first location hosts some open air works and in situ installations, while Goethe highlights specific accents and perspectives of these creations. A webcam connection projects live the exhibition at La Neighbourhood into the Goethe-Institut.
