The Dar-es-Salaam International Trade Fair.
28 June-8 July 2009. The first Dar-es-Salaam International Trade Fair was held in 1963 and has since become a major promotional event by Tanzania's Board of External Trade (BET). Over the years the fair has firmly established itself as a high-profile market place for local produce. It also serves neighbouring countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
The fair is sponsored by the Tanzania business community, which both exhibits and uses it as a forum for exchange. In 2007 a total of 1866 exhibitors representing over 30 countries exhibited at the fair. For more information see www.bet.co.tz.
