16 September-2 October 2010. This theatre piece, based on a novel by K Sello Duiker and directed by Fatima Dike, is presented by the Siyasanga Cape Town Theatre Company in association with Artscape.
The story tells of a young black South African man, Tshepo, who is a sensitive poet and whose complex life is always in turmoil.
The audience witnesses the journey of a contemporary hero, who faces the shadows of his being, such as his traumatic childhood with a father who understood violence as an act of love, a period of incarceration in a psychiatric institution, racism, crime and a litany of personal and sexual encounters.
The cast features Chris Gxalaba, Fikile Mahola, Chiedza Mhende, Richard Lothian, Lee Roodt and Pierre Malherbe.
