Watercolours by Joy Adamson. Her paintings illustrate her life as a conservationist and chronicler of the diversity of the natural environment in Kenya.
Adamson, who was born in 1910 in what is now the Czech Republic, lived in Kenya from the 1940s to her murder in 1980.
She is best known for her book Born Free about bringing up a lion cub Elsa, which became an international bestseller.
During her life she created about 500 paintings and line drawings.
