12-13 June 2009. After the success of the first South African performance of La Scala di Seta (The Silken Ladder) in Suldoosterfees earlier this year, this comic opera by Rossini arrives in Cape Town for only two performances. The story tells of a guardian Dormont who tries to find his ward Giulia a husband. However, Dormont is not aware that Giulia is already secretly married to Dorvil. Directed by award-winning director Lara Bye. Alexander Fokkens conduces the Cape Town Camerata.
