17 Jan-17 Feb 2010. This exhibition displays work by the Egyptian artist Adel El-Siwi.
After studying psychiatry at Cairo University, El-Siwi spent ten years in Italy before returning to Egypt to continue his career as a printer. His favourite subjects are human faces, which express the duality of the individual.
El-Siwi has shown his work in Egypt, Germany, Germany, Lebanon and Italy, including at the 1997 Venice Biennale, and he has also participated in group exhibitions in Brazil and Mexico. He has also translated Leonardo da Vinci's Treatise on Painting into Arabic, worked as a film art-director and written about contemporary art.
