11 May-11 September 2011. This exhibition displays the works by the 85 years old Durban photographer Ranjith Kally and displays some of his shots taken since 1945.

Kally is specialized in portraiture and immortalized throughout his career some of the most important and glamorous personalities in the history of South Africa and not only, such as Nelson Manela, Chief Albert Luthuli, Miriam Makeba, Alan Paton, Oliver Tambo and Sonny Pillay. His works stimulate a reflection on the fascinating past of this country through the lens of this famous veteran photographer.

For many decades Kally has published his photographs on the social pages of the local Durban newspapers starting with The Leader and then working for 26 years for the DRUM magazine. Since 1967 Kally became member of the Royal Photographic Society of London. He received several recognitions but his work was little known until his first solo exhibition in 2004. Today Kally
