18-19 Aug 2010. Tuberculosis (TB) drug developers, care providers, public health policy-makers and community advocates come together for an open forum on the state of TB drug development with a special focus on Africa. The programme includes special sessions on the current global TB drug development portfolio, drug registration and trials and challenges in TB drug development for resistant disease among other issues.
The forum is organised by the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development (TB Alliance), a non-profit partnership promoting the discovery and development of faster-acting and more affordable drugs to fight TB. It is part of the Stop TB Partnership, an international network established in 2000 with the aim of eliminating the potentially fatal infectious disease.
