Vasco Manhiça

Black Box by Vasco Manhiça. An exhibition of paintings and drawings by this Mozambican artist who is now based in Germany. His works are in the National Museum of Art and he has had exhibitions, workshops and fellowships in South Africa, Portugal and Germany.

Manhiça has said that art must be a tool to stimulate (R)Evolution and that it must have a social and political impact, not just an aesthetic one. This socially engaged artist has written that “Art is a gift of the divine superior forces, not to be used for private purposes.”
