2-17 September 2011. The Phoenix Players stage a successful play entitled Weekend Breaks, written by John Godber and directed by George Mungai. This humorous play explores the complex relationship between Martin Dawson, a 30-year old theatre studies teacher and his old parents Joan and Len.
The protagonist, who separated from his wife and children after a love affair, has invited his parents to visit him on a weekend in the Lake District. This weekend break evolves into an opportunity to make emerge the frustrations of a lifetime. Godber
