Women's Day in Addis Ababa

Embassies and cultural institutes present a programme for international women's day of exhibitions, films, discussion groups, a concert and a bazaar all based on the theme of women.

An exhibition by Pierre-Yves Ginet is on the subject of women in resistance movements. There is a documentary about the battle against female genital mutilation, discussion groups on the influence and position of women in culture and law in Africa, and a screening of the film The Price of Love by top Ethiopian director Hermon Hailay film, which was screened at the Cannes film festival in 2014.

There is also a concert at the end of the day Munit and Friends: Women's Voices. The events are at the Alliance Ethio-Française, Wavel Street.
