Workshop for Ethiopian and German Authors of Children’s Books

This one-day workshop will bring together Ethiopian and German authors, including Cornelia Franz, Sigrid Zeevaert, Hanna Jansen and Doris Meissner-Johannknecht, directed by Nasrin Siege, a German/Iranian author of children’s books. It will focus on children’s literature in Germany and Ethiopia as well as on some questions regarding freedom in writing, the book market and gender issues in children books.

On Sept 2012 Goethe hosted a Creative Writing workshop, held by Nasrin Siege and attended by 14 Ethiopian authors of children’s books. A series of short stories, created during the workshop, were subsequently reunited and published in a German/Amharic book.
