Lukundo Nalungwe from Zambia won the N-Met Face of Africa top model prize, held in Lagos on Saturday 6 Feb. She is the first Zambian to have won the prize, which is the most sought-after in the world of African fashion.

The prize is worth $50,000, an international modeling contract and an appearance at the Mercedes-Benz New York fashion week thanks to Arise magazine sponsorship.

President of Banda of Zambia has said that he will host a special lunch for Nalungwe and that her hard work and self-esteem should become a role model for other Zambians who want to succeed on the international scene. He also advised her not let the prize ruin her future career. Nalungwe is a student in business administration at Zambia
